17-year-old found guilty on five felony counts in Strykers Shooting World burglary case

LAS CRUCES - A 17-year-old was found guilty Wednesday of five felony counts tied to the November 2025 burglary of Strykers Shooting World, while jurors acquitted him on two charges and deadlocked on two others.
A Doña Ana County jury returned the mixed verdict after a three-day trial and about seven hours of deliberation, according to the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Adan Delgado was convicted of five felonies, including unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence and conspiracy charges.
Jurors acquitted Delgado of larceny and a separate vehicle theft charge.
The judge declared a mistrial on the remaining two felony counts of aggravated burglary and larceny.

Prosecutors say he helped plan burglary
Prosecutors said Delgado never entered Strykers Shooting World but acted as a co-conspirator by helping plan the burglary and facilitating the theft of a vehicle used during the break-in.
“Adan Delgado knew what he was doing,” District Attorney Fernando Macias said in a statement. “He knew the intent and directly contributed to putting more guns into this community.”
The burglary happened about 2 a.m. Nov. 22, 2025.
Surveillance video showed six teenagers using a stolen Kia Forte to ram through a security gate at Strykers Shooting World before using the vehicle to break through an aluminum roll-up door, prosecutors said.
The group wore masks, gloves and hoodies to conceal their identities.
Prosecutors said the group spent about two minutes inside the business and used a firearm to break a glass display case before stealing nine handguns, two rifles and a shotgun.

The group escaped in another stolen vehicle, a Kia Rio.
Police later found the vehicle abandoned and discovered a class schedule belonging to one of the defendants during a search, according to prosecutors.
Investigators used that discovery to help identify and arrest members of the group.
The District Attorney’s Office said the burglary caused about $20,000 in damage to Strykers and resulted in about $15,000 worth of stolen firearms.
Prosecutors also said one of the stolen vehicles was totaled, causing about $18,000 in damage.
“They couldn’t have done this without the help of Adan Delgado,” Macias said. “This is one step toward justice in this case.”
Three other defendants are awaiting trial.
An amenability hearing will be scheduled before Delgado is sentenced.
Macias and Deputy District Attorney Anne Swank prosecuted the case. Las Cruces police investigated.
