Brad Weems appointed Las Cruces Airport director

Weems brings more than 20 years of airport management and operations experience and begins Aug. 24

LAS CRUCES - Brad Weems has been appointed director of the Las Cruces Airport and will begin serving in the position Monday, Aug. 24, the city announced.

Weems brings more than 20 years of experience in airport management and operations.

He previously served as airport operations duty manager at Washington Dulles International Airport, where the city said he helped manage major infrastructure initiatives including terminal construction and runway rehabilitation projects.

Weems also has experience in Federal Aviation Administration regulatory compliance, airport safety and security, daily operations and community stakeholder relations.

He is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, a private pilot and a licensed aircraft dispatcher.

Weems earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston.

The city said Weems will focus on airport development and its role in supporting regional economic growth.
