UPDATE, 1:20 p.m. — The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office has cleared the scene after investigating a reported bomb threat near the Government Center. Deputies found no active threat, and officials say the building has reopened for normal operations.


LAS CRUCES - The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a bomb threat near the county Government Center on Motel Boulevard.

County officials said the building at 845 N. Motel Blvd. has been closed “out of an abundance of caution” while the investigation continues.

Public safety remains the county’s top priority, officials said, urging residents to avoid the area until further notice.

Updates will be shared through official county communication channels as more information becomes available.
