CHAPARRAL - Three people were transported to local hospitals Saturday evening after a two-vehicle crash in Chaparral, according to Doña Ana Fire Rescue.

Fire crews were dispatched just after 8 p.m. to a crash near mile marker 7 on Highway 404, county officials said. When crews arrived, they found two vehicles involved in the crash.

One occupant was trapped inside a vehicle and was safely extricated by firefighters at the scene.

Three patients were transported to local hospitals for treatment. County officials did not immediately release additional information about the extent of their injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
