LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana Community College has received a $15,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation to provide scholarships for students preparing for careers in manufacturing.

The funding will support students enrolled in manufacturing and computer numerical control programs within DACC’s Architecture & Construction Technology Program.

“This continued investment reflects the foundation’s ongoing confidence in our programs and our commitment to preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing,” said Laura De La Cruz, dean of DACC’s Advanced Technologies Division.

De La Cruz said the scholarships will be awarded over the next two years, helping reduce financial barriers for students while supporting regional workforce development.

The Gene Haas Foundation was established in 1999 and initially focused on supporting communities in Ventura County, California. It has since expanded its work to provide scholarship grants to community colleges offering manufacturing and CNC-related training.

Students interested in DACC’s Manufacturing & Automation, Electronics or Aerospace programs can find additional information through the college’s Architecture & Construction Technologies program.
