LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana Community College's 24th annual golf tournament raised funds to provide $1,000 scholarships to 10 students and support the college's campus food pantry.

The tournament was held Friday, Oct. 9, at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.

According to DACC, the event generated funding for $10,000 in student scholarships and additional financial support for the FirstLight Federal Credit Union Comfort Casita, the college's food pantry program.

The scholarships are intended to help students overcome financial barriers and continue their education.

The Comfort Casita provides food and other basic necessities to DACC students at no charge.

The program's main pantry is located at DACC's Espina Campus, 3400 S. Espina St., while smaller food pantries, known as micro-casitas, are available at the college's other campuses and centers.

Students can learn more about the program and available resources through DACC's FirstLight Comfort Casita webpage.

The college did not announce a total fundraising amount beyond the scholarships and additional pantry support described in its release.
