Disabled American Veterans and RecruitMilitary will host the National Virtual Veterans Career Fair on May 19, connecting veterans and military families with employers nationwide.

The free online event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mountain and is open to veterans, spouses of veterans, active-duty military personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserve.

According to organizers, more than 61 employers representing industries including construction, medical, administration and logistics are expected to participate. The event will feature job opportunities ranging from entry-level positions to senior management roles.

In addition to employment opportunities, attendees will be able to access career counseling, resume assistance, networking opportunities and support with Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and claims at no cost.

DAV said it plans to sponsor more than 90 in-person and virtual job fairs this year as part of its employment initiative.

Since the initiative launched in 2014, DAV reports nearly 274,000 people have attended its employment events, resulting in more than 167,000 job offers.

Last year, DAV also released “The Veteran Advantage: DAV Guide to Hiring and Retaining Veterans with Disabilities,” a resource aimed at helping employers recruit and retain veterans with service-connected disabilities.
