LAS CRUCES - The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office announced Friday that the county election board has completed its hand tally of write-in votes from the 2026 primary election and will reconvene Monday to continue canvassing.

The election board is scheduled to meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 8.

The completed hand tally includes write-in votes in four races: U.S. Senate on the Republican ballot, state auditor on the Republican ballot, state treasurer on the Republican ballot and state representative District 38 on the Democratic ballot.

More than 24,700 ballots were cast in the primary election, including about 3,700 write-in ballots, according to the Clerk’s Office.

The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to certify election results at 1 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces.

Election results remain unofficial until certified by the state of New Mexico. Unofficial results are available through the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office.
