Cases tied to Jan. 10 arrest list DWI, drug and weapon allegations against Buzz Adams

EL PASO - El Paso County court records show multiple cases were entered Jan. 10 against Michael Earl Witt, better known on air as Buzz Adams, a longtime El Paso radio host.

Court records list allegations that include driving while intoxicated, drug possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Court records show four separate cases dated Jan. 10, 2026. They are currently listed as “pre-file,” meaning the charges have been entered into the court system, but prosecutors have not yet formally filed or pursued them.

According to the court records, the listed allegations include:

  • Driving while intoxicated
  • Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram
  • Possession of marijuana, less than two ounces
  • Unlawful carrying of a weapon

A representative at the El Paso County jail confirmed to Organ Mountain News that Witt was released from custody on Jan. 11 after posting a combined $6,500 surety bond covering the cases filed the day before. The jail said the arrest was made by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Court records reviewed by Organ Mountain News did not list any scheduled court dates for the cases.

Witt is widely known in El Paso radio under the name Buzz Adams. He hosts The Buzz Adams Morning Show on KLAQ 95.5 Classic Rock, which airs weekday mornings. According to his station bio, he is originally from Oklahoma and worked in manufacturing and agriculture before entering radio, eventually building a long career in broadcasting in the El Paso region.
