Free seven-week course helps build confidence for work and everyday life

LAS CRUCES - Spanish-speaking residents looking to improve their spoken English can sign up now for a free seven-week conversation class hosted by Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

The intermediate-level course begins Monday, May 12 and will meet weekly from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room at the library, located at 200 E. Picacho Ave. Classes run through June 30, skipping Memorial Day.

Led by instructor Carlos Goebels, the program is designed to help students feel more confident speaking English in daily life and on the job. Each class includes group discussions on real-world topics and short student presentations. Participants will work on pronunciation, vocabulary and listening skills in a supportive environment.

The course is offered by Las Cruces Public Libraries and is open to Spanish speakers who already have some experience with English and want to strengthen their communication skills.
