The free Aug. 15 family event will feature food, entertainment, activities and community resources as FYI+ marks 250 years of regional history in southern Doña Ana County

ANTHONY - FYI+ will host a free family event Aug. 15 in Anthony celebrating regional history, culture and community connections in southern Doña Ana County.

Raíces y Ritmos — billed as “Roots and Rhythms: Celebrating Our History to Our Future” — is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at 414 St. Anthony St. in Anthony.

According to FYI+, the event will include free food and drinks, cultural entertainment, a live DJ, family activities, a resource fair and a community mural painting activity.

FYI+ said the event is intended to celebrate the 250th year of regional history in southern Doña Ana County and invite community members to its Anthony location for a family-friendly cultural gathering.

The event is sponsored in part by New Mexico Spirit. FYI+ also thanked Presbyterian Turquoise Care as a planning partner.

FYI+ is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorship levels range from $500 for bronze sponsors to $5,000 for diamond sponsors and include benefits such as event recognition, vendor-table opportunities, social media recognition and logo placement on promotional materials.
