HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE - Registration fees for the 2026 Holloman Air Force Base Ace of Races will increase Sept. 4, giving runners less than two weeks to register at current prices.
The Oct. 10 event is open to the public and includes a full marathon, half marathon, 5K and free 1-mile kids dash.
Participants will run on Holloman’s flightline past F-16 fighter jets and MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft.
The course is USA Track and Field certified and can be used as a qualifier for major races including the Boston and New York City marathons, according to Holloman officials.
With less than 65 feet of elevation gain, organizers describe the paved course as particularly flat.
Current registration fees are $86 for the full marathon, open to runners ages 15 and older; $75 for the half marathon, open to ages 12 and older; and $45 for the 5K, open to ages 5 and older.
The kids dash is free and open to children ages 5 to 12.
Registration fees increase Sept. 4.

The Ace of Races is named for Maj. Richard Bong, known as the “Ace of Aces,” who was assigned to the 49th Fighter Group in the 1940s. Bong was the highest-scoring American flying ace of World War II, credited with shooting down 40 Japanese aircraft.
