LAS CRUCES - Eyemart Express shoppers in Las Cruces can support cancer research through the optical retailer’s annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser.

The company will donate $5 for every Stand Up To Cancer frame sold in stores and online through Aug. 29. The Las Cruces store is located at 3050 E. Lohman Ave.

Eyemart Express is participating in the fundraiser for the 11th year. The company said it has raised more than $1 million for Stand Up To Cancer over the past decade and has guaranteed a minimum donation of $30,000 during this year’s campaign.

The fundraiser comes as the American Cancer Society estimates about 2.1 million people in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer in 2026.

“Sadly, most of us have a family member, friend or neighbor that has been diagnosed with cancer, which is why our annual fundraiser with Stand Up To Cancer is so important,” Katy Hanson, interim co-president and chief marketing officer at Eyemart Express, said in a statement.

The unisex Stand Up To Cancer collection includes six new and returning frame styles with names including “Rising,” “Endurance” and “Thrive.” Frames start at $79.95 and are available in two colors.

Stand Up To Cancer funds collaborative research aimed at improving cancer detection and treatment.

Shoppers can participate at the Las Cruces store or through the Eyemart Express website through Aug. 29.
