LAS CRUCES - Parents and caregivers can receive free assistance installing and using child safety seats during a car seat fitting station Thursday afternoon in Las Cruces.

The fitting station will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Sisbarro Buick-GMC, 425 W. Boutz Road. Nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will help participants select, install and use child safety seats and booster seats properly.

Technicians will conduct inspections on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is required.

Participants should bring their car seat, car seat manual, vehicle manual and, when possible, the child who uses the seat. Technicians will spend about 30 minutes per seat and will explain common car seat safety errors.
