Las Cruces gas prices dip below $2.75, continuing monthlong decline

Gas prices in Las Cruces have fallen to $2.72 per gallon, dropping nearly 35 cents in a month as New Mexico averages continue to decline statewide.

AAA data show Doña Ana County drivers paying 35 cents less per gallon than a month ago

LAS CRUCES - Drivers in southern New Mexico are finding some relief at the pump.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price for regular unleaded gasoline in Las Cruces was $2.72 per gallon as of Oct. 19 — down from $3.08 a month ago and $2.92 a year ago.

That puts Doña Ana County slightly below the statewide average of $2.78 and well beneath the national average of $3.04, continuing a steady decline seen through much of October.

Regular unleaded in Las Cruces averaged $2.72 per gallon, down from $3.08 a month ago and $2.92 a year ago. Mid-grade fuel averaged $3.21, premium was $3.53, and diesel stood at $3.29 — all lower than a month earlier.

AAA data show New Mexico’s highest recorded average for regular unleaded was $4.83 per gallon on June 15, 2022. The statewide average for diesel peaked at $5.60 three days later.

The trend mirrors national movement, where prices have drifted downward as refineries complete seasonal maintenance and demand slows.
