One occupant was treated at the scene and transported to a local emergency room after the Saturday morning fire.

LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces firefighters extinguished a residential structure fire Saturday morning on Jasper Drive.

Firefighters responded just after 6 a.m. Saturday, July 4, to a report of a residential structure fire in the 300 block of Jasper Drive.

The first arriving unit found a single-wide mobile home with moderate smoke showing from the rear of the structure, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department. Firefighters entered the home to conduct a primary search and begin fire suppression.

The fire was brought under control within nine minutes of the first crew’s arrival.

One occupant was treated at the scene and transported to a local emergency room for further medical evaluation. No firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
