The 12-week series offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at city departments, from police and fire to utilities, transit and more.

LAS CRUCES - Residents will again have a chance to learn how city government works through the “Know Your City” program, set to begin Sept. 3.

The free 12-week series highlights a different department each week, from the police and fire departments to financial services, quality of life, parks and recreation, transit and more. Sessions are held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays in the City Hall Council Chambers, 700 N. Main St. Session 8, on Oct. 22, will take place at the Las Cruces Utilities building, 680 N. Motel Blvd.

No registration is required, and participants are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as they like. Those who complete the full series will be recognized at a graduation brunch and during the Nov. 17 City Council meeting.
