LAS CRUCES - Legislators from Doña Ana County will host two events in January to hear from constituents and discuss priorities for the upcoming 60-day legislative session.

Jan. 9: Listening session

On Thursday, Jan. 9, Rep. Joanne Ferrary, Rep. Sarah Silva, and Sen. Bill Soules will hold a listening session from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Temple Beth-El, 3980 Sonoma Springs Ave., Las Cruces.

This session provides an opportunity for the public to share concerns and offer feedback as lawmakers prepare for the legislative session, which begins later this month.

Jan. 11: Town hall meeting

On Saturday, Jan. 11, House Speaker Javier Martínez will join members of the Doña Ana County House Delegation for a town hall meeting from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Corbett Center Student Union, Doña Ana Room, on the New Mexico State University campus.

Attending legislators include:

  • Rep. Ray Lara
  • Rep. Sarah Silva
  • Rep. Joanne Ferrary
  • Rep. Micaela Lara Cadena
  • Rep. Doreen Gallegos

This event will focus on legislative priorities for the 2025 session, allow attendees to ask questions, and highlight efforts by House Democrats to address statewide issues.

Both events are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and engage with their representatives.
