LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces Public Schools will hold a budget town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex.

Deputy Superintendent of Finance, Procurement and Budget Chenyu “Alex” Liu and Director of Budget Analysis and Development Matthew Saenz will lead a presentation and discussion on the district’s proposed budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The meeting is the final town hall in this year’s budget cycle. District officials said the process included collaboration with the Budget Survey Committee, a group of teachers, administrators, community members and staff who gathered public input on funding priorities through a budget survey.

Community members are invited to attend in person or watch the meeting online.

Encouraging public participation

District officials said feedback from families, staff and community members plays a key role in shaping the budget. Residents are encouraged to attend or view the livestream to learn more about how funding decisions are made.
