LAS CRUCES - Citywide spring and summer water restrictions will take effect April 1, limiting when residents can water outdoor vegetation.

The restrictions prohibit watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Customers with even-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Customers with odd-numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The city does not allow watering on Mondays.

Las Cruces Utilities asks residents to report water waste, including watering on the wrong day or time, water leaving or pooling on a property, and washing vehicles or pavement without a bucket and shut-off nozzle.

Residents can report violations through a 24-hour hotline at 575-528-4444 and should provide the day, time and location.

City officials encourage residents to conserve water as demand increases during the warmer months.
