LCPD’s Lunchbox Lemonade series kicks off June 12 at the Metro Verde Splash Pad, offering residents a chance to meet officers, enjoy free lemonade and popsicles, and talk safety while kids play.

Community event offers popsicles, lemonade and conversation with officers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LAS CRUCES - The Las Cruces Police Department’s Community Outreach Team and Raising Cane’s will kick off their summer Lunchbox Lemonade series Thursday, June 12, at the Metro Verde Splash Pad.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 7125 Metro Park St., and encourages residents of all ages to bring a sack lunch and meet with members of the Community Outreach Team. While kids cool off in the splash pad, adults can chat with officers, ask questions and share concerns about public safety.

LCPD will hand out free popsicles, and Raising Cane’s will provide free lemonade for all attendees.

Additional Lunchbox Lemonade events are scheduled Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at splash pads around the city:

  • June 26 – Unidad Park, 1501 E. Hadley Ave.
  • July 10 – Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St.
  • July 24 – Metro Verde Splash Pad, 7125 Metro Park St.
  • Aug. 7 – Unidad Park, 1501 E. Hadley Ave.
  • Aug. 21 – Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St.
