Las Cruces police issued 27 citations in a one-hour traffic enforcement operation on Red Hawk Golf Road, including speeding, registration and insurance violations.

Speeding made up more than half of the violations in Thursday morning’s enforcement effort

LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces police issued 27 citations during a one-hour traffic enforcement operation Thursday on Red Hawk Golf Road.

The Traffic Unit conducted the operation from 8 to 9 a.m. Dec. 4. Officers issued 14 citations for speeding in the 30 mph zone. Six drivers were cited for lacking proper registration and five for having no proof of insurance.

Other violations included driving without a license and using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.

LCPD said similar enforcement efforts are likely in the coming weeks.
