LAS CRUCES - The League of Women Voters of Southern New Mexico has distributed thousands of voter guides across Doña Ana County ahead of the Nov. 4 local election.

The 16-page nonpartisan guide includes candidate responses to questions about qualifications and priorities. Voters can also view candidate information and additional races statewide at Vote411.org.

“Our voter guide and Vote411 are two important resource tools the League provides so the voting public has information to help them make educated decisions about the candidates and area tax questions,” said Jo Galván Nash, past president. “Vote411 also provides information for all races throughout New Mexico.”

Printed copies were distributed inside the Oct. 10 Las Cruces Bulletin, at newspaper stands, and in government, education and senior centers. The guide is also available online at lwvsnm.org.

The publication includes voting dates, deadlines, locations, and registration and absentee voting information in English and Spanish.

Nash said the League wants the public to be aware of one misprint in the guide. Questions printed with responses from Las Cruces Municipal Judge candidate James Derossitt were incorrect.

“We apologize to Mr. Derossitt for this mistake,” Nash said. “The online version of the voter guide has been corrected, and the candidate’s responses on Vote411.org are accurate.”
