Children through age 18 can receive required immunizations at 69 locations through Aug. 29, regardless of insurance status

SANTA FE - Free back-to-school vaccination clinics remain available at 69 locations across New Mexico through Aug. 29.

The Got Shots clinics are open to children from birth through age 18. No insurance is required, and no child will be turned away because of a lack of coverage, according to the New Mexico Department of Health.

Parents should bring their child’s vaccination record and insurance card, if available.

Some participating clinics offer evening and weekend hours. Parents are encouraged to call ahead to determine whether an appointment is required.

“Great job to all the kids and their parents for getting vaccinated,” said Andrea Romero, section manager for the NMDOH immunization program. “Staying up to date helps everyone around you stay healthy and free from many serious, preventable diseases when returning to the classroom.”

The clinics are offered through NMDOH, the New Mexico Primary Care Association and the New Mexico Immunization Coalition.

Families can review New Mexico’s 2026-27 school-entry immunization requirements and find nearby providers through the state’s vaccine website at vaccine.doh.nm.gov.

Appointments also may be available through primary care providers, pharmacies and local public health offices.
