LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces Public Schools is accepting nominations for its 2026 Principal of the Year award, which recognizes outstanding leadership within the district.

Parents, students, staff and community members can nominate a principal who has been in the role for at least two years. Eligible candidates should demonstrate strong instructional leadership, effective management of faculty and students and a commitment to student learning through innovative programs.

The award is part of LCPS’s annual recognition program, which also honors a Teacher of the Year and an Educational Support Person of the Year. The Principal of the Year will be announced at the Celebration of Excellence Dinner on April 25, hosted by the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation.

Nominations are limited to one per person. The deadline to submit is Feb. 28, 2025.
