LAS CRUCES - The Bureau of Land Management is inviting the public to save the date for the Organ Mountains Jubilee, a free community celebration Oct. 24 at Dripping Springs Natural Area honoring both America's 250th anniversary and the agency's 80th birthday.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature live music, guided hikes, family activities, food trucks, outdoor recreation vendors and educational exhibits.

Country music artist Chuck Wimer is scheduled to perform from noon to 2:30 p.m. The band Flat Blak will perform from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Organizers also plan performances by a mariachi band, along with a kids fun zone, Wonder Wheels Museum activities and guided hikes to La Cueva and Dripping Springs.

Limited parking will be available at the event. Overflow parking will be provided at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, where courtesy shuttles will transport visitors to and from Dripping Springs Natural Area.

The Organ Mountains Jubilee is the Bureau of Land Management's premier Freedom 250 celebration in New Mexico and commemorates the agency's 80th anniversary.
