LAS CRUCES - Registration is now open for the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department’s low-cost Winter Break Camp, scheduled for Dec. 22, 2025, through Jan. 2, 2026.

The $20 camp is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade and will operate as an all-day program featuring physical play, games, quiet reading time, lunch, a field trip, recreational and creative activities, guest speakers and age-appropriate enrichment opportunities.

Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be held at Jornada Elementary School, 3400 Elks Drive, and East Mesa Recreation Center, 5589 Porter Drive. The camp will not operate on Dec. 25, Dec. 26 or Jan. 1.

Registration opened Dec. 5 and will remain available until all spots are filled. Space is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents and guardians can register online at LasCruces.gov/Play or in person during regular business hours at the following locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave.; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday
  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave.; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave.; 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave.; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
