Las Cruces firefighters contained a house fire early Thursday on Sacramento Street that left seven people hospitalized, including one man still in the hospital with injuries

Firefighters responded to the blaze on Sacramento Street around 4:30 a.m. Thursday and quickly brought it under control.

LAS CRUCES - A residential fire damaged a home on the 1600 block of Sacramento Street early Thursday morning, sending seven people to a local hospital.

Las Cruces firefighters responded around 4:30 a.m. Oct. 16 and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Crews quickly brought the blaze under control.

Seven occupants were transported to a hospital for evaluation. A 46-year-old man remained hospitalized Friday with injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates have not yet been released.
