Firefighters contained a Sunland Park house fire to an attached garage early Wednesday. No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue and Sunland Park firefighters brought the fire under control within five minutes early Wednesday morning.

SUNLAND PARK - Firefighters contained a house fire to an attached garage early Wednesday morning in Sunland Park, according to Doña Ana Fire Rescue.

Fire crews were dispatched just before 1:30 a.m. to the 900 block of Nickel Hill Avenue after reports of a house fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home with heavy fire involvement in the attached garage.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue and Sunland Park Fire crews worked to make sure all occupants were safely evacuated before beginning fire suppression efforts. Crews contained the fire to the garage and brought it under control within five minutes.

Firefighters remained at the scene to extinguish hot spots and monitor for possible rekindles.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
