WSMR plans Highway 70 closure Monday morning

White Sands Missile Range plans a one-hour closure of Highway 70 at 9:30 a.m. Monday. San Augustin Pass and Las Cruces Gate will not be affected.

LAS CRUCES - White Sands Missile Range plans to close Highway 70 for about one hour Monday morning.

Range Control said the closure is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to lift around 10:30 a.m.

The block will be in place at Blue Block, about two miles east of the access road near mile marker 172, and at Brown Block near mile marker 192.

San Augustin Pass and the Las Cruces Gate will not be affected. Nike Avenue will be affected during the closure.

Officials said updates will be provided if the schedule changes.
