A 14-year-old was airlifted to a local hospital after a suspected shooting on Fuentes Lane in Vado. Two persons of interest have been identified.

Two persons of interest identified; sheriff’s office says no ongoing threat to public

VADO - Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Doña Ana Fire Rescue responded to a trauma call on Fuentes Lane in Vado just after 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

First responders found a 14-year-old with what authorities believe was a gunshot wound.

Crews airlifted the juvenile to a local hospital. As of Thursday morning, the teen remained in stable condition.

Investigators have identified two individuals as persons of interest and said charges are pending.

The sheriff’s office said there is no known ongoing threat to the public.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
