LAS CRUCES - Residents of Las Cruces can recycle their natural Christmas trees on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at the Doña Ana County Government Center parking lot, 845 N. Motel Blvd. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Recycling Christmas trees is an eco-friendly way to dispose of holiday decorations. Mulch made from recycled trees can be used in landscaping projects, erosion control or even as habitat for wildlife in certain areas. This sustainable practice helps reduce landfill waste while giving trees a second purpose.

Participants are reminded to remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel and tree stands before dropping off their trees. Artificial trees and decorations will not be accepted.

This initiative supports efforts to keep Doña Ana County clean and beautiful by responsibly disposing of holiday waste.
