LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana Community College has honored Dr. Marnie Rocha with the 2026 Donald C. Roush Excellence in Teaching Award, recognizing her dedication and impact in the classroom.

Rocha, an instructor in DACC’s Education Program, received the award Feb. 13 during the college’s spring convocation. The annual award recognizes faculty members who demonstrate consistent dedication and high standards of teaching excellence.

“Dr. Rocha translates a high level of expertise into the classroom and models responsive teaching and high-context learning,” said DACC Chancellor Dr. Mónica Torres.

The Donald C. Roush Excellence in Teaching Award was established in February 1984 by New Mexico State University’s Academic Dean’s Council upon the retirement of Dr. Roush, then executive vice president, to recognize a commitment to teaching excellence.

Award recipients are selected based on input from students, department chairs or program directors and division deans.
