LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana Community College has named Kris Gomez as its 2025 honorary degree recipient.

Gomez will receive an honorary Associate of Public Health degree during the college’s commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Pan American Center.

College officials said in a news release Gomez was selected for his long-standing contributions to DACC students, employees and the broader community. He has 19 years of experience in healthcare, finance, health equity and population health.

At DACC, Gomez helped organize vaccine clinics, mobile health care centers and resource drives for students. He has also contributed to campus events and outreach efforts supporting underserved families, including donation programs that provided Thanksgiving meals, school supplies and toys.

The DACC honorary degree recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional service to the college and surrounding community. It is the highest recognition the college awards.
