LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana County Clerk Amanda López Askin has been reappointed to the Voting System Certification Committee by New Mexico Senate President Pro Tempore Mimi Stewart.

López Askin will serve another two-year term on the committee, which evaluates the reliability and suitability of voting systems used in state elections. The VSCC provides recommendations to the Secretary of State on the certification of voting systems, ensuring they meet standards for security, accuracy and accessibility under the state Election Code.

“I am deeply honored by the confidence Senator Pro Tem Stewart has placed in me through this reappointment,” López Askin said. “Serving on the Voting System Certification Committee is a vital responsibility, and I look forward to continuing our work to uphold the integrity and reliability of our election systems.”
