LAS CRUCES - The Doña Ana County Humane Society will celebrate Halloween with its annual Howl-O-Ween Yappy Hour fundraiser on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at The Blue Door Venue, 1750 Calle De Mercado.

The event, held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., combines a festive evening for pets and people with support for two local causes — the Humane Society itself and the Spay Neuter Action Program (SNAP). A minimum $5 donation is requested at the door, and friendly leashed dogs and cats are welcome.

Guests can expect food trucks, a cash bar, live music, a pet costume contest, raffle prizes and themed attractions such as paw readings, photo booths and Bark-O-Treating stations. Local vendors will host a mini pop-up market, and treats like Pup Cups will be available for four-legged attendees.

Funds raised will benefit the Humane Society’s Animal Relief Fund, Pets for Seniors initiative and Ruff-To-Ready program, which offer financial and adoption assistance for pet owners and seniors. Proceeds will also support SNAP’s low-cost spay, neuter, vaccination and microchipping services for low-income households in Doña Ana County.

“Our annual Howl-O-Ween Yappy Hour is a tail-wagging treat where spooky costumes, furry friends and community joy collide,” said Bernadette Tirre, president of the Humane Society board. “It’s the perfect way to celebrate Halloween with paws, pumpkins and plenty of smiles.”

For safety reasons, retractable leashes are not permitted. More information is available at dachslc.org or through the event’s Facebook page.
