Las Cruces Fire Department crews were called to the blaze shortly before 2 p.m. Aug. 13. Firefighters arrived to find flames on the home’s exterior and began attacking the fire with a hose line.

While inspecting the property, crews discovered flames inside an interior wall and attic space above the exterior fire. A second alarm was declared, bringing additional firefighters to the scene. An interior attack was initiated and the fire was brought under control, limiting its spread.
