LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces police arrested a 16-year-old boy in the Nov. 15 shooting that killed a 21-year-old man and injured three others at a house party on the 2400 block of Bugatti Drive, according to an LCPD news release.

Detectives took the juvenile into custody about 5 p.m. Tuesday on the 1800 block of north Mesquite Street. He is charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police are not identifying him because of his age.

The teen was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center’s juvenile facility.

Investigators said the arrest was possible because witnesses submitted numerous videos and photographs of the shooting. Police said those digital submissions helped identify the suspect.

LCPD thanked community members who provided information and asked anyone with additional tips to contact the department or reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces at 1-800-222-8477.
