Las Cruces police issue 37 citations during El Paseo Road traffic operation

Las Cruces police issued 37 citations in one hour along El Paseo Road on Aug. 14, including speeding, registration, insurance and cell phone violations. More operations are planned.

One-hour enforcement netted speeding, registration, insurance and other violations

LAS CRUCES - The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 37 citations Thursday during a one-hour enforcement operation along El Paseo Road.

The operation began around 8:15 a.m. Aug. 14. Thirteen citations were issued for speeding and 11 for operating a vehicle without proper registration.

Other citations included:

Three for failure to provide proof of insurance
Three for no driver’s license
Two for using a cell phone while driving
Five for other traffic infractions

Police say additional enforcement operations are likely in the coming weeks.
