LAS CRUCES - A Mental Health First Aid certification course focused on youth will be held Wednesday, March 12, at the Doña Ana County Government Center.

The free, eight-hour course runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 111 of the Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. It is designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents ages 12 to 18 and provides training on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in young people.

The class is open to the public at no cost. Participants can register online.
