DOÑA ANA COUNTY - The intersection of Moongate Road and Sirus Street will be closed during daytime hours for about five business days beginning Monday, Aug. 18, while crews locate gas lines in the area.

The Doña Ana County government said the intersection will be closed daily from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the project and will reopen to traffic after work hours each day.

Workers will cut into the pavement to identify all utilities within the roadway, then repave the intersection. County officials anticipate paving will be finished by early September.

Drivers are urged to follow posted detour routes, obey traffic control signs and use caution in the area.

For more information about the project, contact the Doña Ana County Public Works Department at 575-528-3333.
