LAS CRUCES - The OIR Group, the firm hired by the City of Las Cruces to audit the police department, will hold a community outreach meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at the Munson Senior Center, 975 S. Mesquite St. The meeting is expected to last about two hours.

The event will provide residents an opportunity to speak with OIR Group representatives and learn more about the firm’s role in auditing the Las Cruces Police Department. Attendees may ask questions and share information or concerns about policing in the community.

Earlier in the day, the OIR Group will present its seventh semi-annual report to City Council during a work session at 1 p.m. in Council Chambers, 700 N. Main St.

The OIR Group reviews Internal Affairs investigations into alleged misconduct within the police department and provides feedback on the accuracy of the findings. The firm presents its findings and recommendations to City Council twice a year.
