SUNLAND PARK - A secured absentee ballot drop-off container in Sunland Park is back in service after being struck by a semi-trailer earlier this month, the Doña Ana County Clerk's Office announced Tuesday.

The container at 1000 McNutt Road was temporarily unavailable after the Oct. 6 collision. The county clerk's office worked with the New Mexico Secretary of State's Office to install a replacement.

Voters can now use the location to return completed absentee ballots 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The restoration comes as early voting continues ahead of New Mexico's Nov. 3 general election.

Absentee ballots must arrive by 7 p.m. Nov. 3

The deadline for returning an absentee ballot is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls close on Election Day. Ballots must be received by that deadline, not merely mailed or postmarked.

Voters may return their absentee ballots at a voting location, the Doña Ana County Clerk's Office or one of the county's secured 24-hour absentee ballot drop-off containers.

A complete list of ballot drop-off containers and voting locations is available at DACElections.com.
