LAS CRUCES - The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 72 citations in a one-hour enforcement operation Thursday morning along north Solano Drive.

Breakdown of citations

  • 21 for speeding
  • 21 for no registration
  • 9 for no proof of insurance
  • 8 for no driver’s license
  • 7 for using a cell phone while driving
  • 3 for not wearing a seat belt
  • 3 for other traffic infractions

LCPD said the operation began at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, and lasted about an hour. Similar enforcement efforts are expected in the coming weeks.
