LAS CRUCES - White Sands Missile Range plans a temporary closure of US 70 Friday morning near the missile range.

According to WSMR, the roadblock is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 8 and is expected to last about one hour.

The closure will affect traffic at Blue Block, located about two miles east of the access road near mile marker 172, and Brown Block near mile marker 192.

WSMR said San Augustin Pass and the Las Cruces Gate will not be affected. However, Nike Avenue will be affected by the closure.

Officials said all roadblocks are subject to change without notice.
