Registration opens May 5 for the city’s annual Mother-Son Dinner Dance, with food, photos and fun planned for boys ages 5 to 12 and their loved ones.

LAS CRUCES - The city of Las Cruces will host its annual Mother-Son Dinner Dance on Friday, May 16, offering a night of food, fun and family bonding.

This year’s theme — “Love You to the Moon and Back” — promises photo opportunities, dinner, entertainment and a small gift for each boy who attends. The event is open to boys ages 5 to 12 and their mother, grandmother or another female role model.

It will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. Monday, May 5, and closes Friday, May 9. Space is limited to 30 couples. The cost is $45 per couple, with an additional $10 fee for each sibling.

To register online, visit www.lascruces.gov/play. First-time participants must create an account with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
