SUNLAND PARK - Parents and caregivers of young children can register for a free two-semester program at Doña Ana Community College’s Sunland Park Center designed to help them build parenting, leadership, college and career skills.

The AVANCE to College program begins Aug. 20 at the Sunland Park Center, 3365 McNutt Road. The program is open to parents and caregivers who want to strengthen family bonds, explore college or career opportunities and build practical skills for the future. Registration information is available online.

Participants will work on parenting and leadership skills, connect with the educational process and explore college and career pathways. The program also helps participants build professional materials, including a resume and cover letter.

At the end of the program, participants and their children will be recognized at a graduation ceremony.
