Board formalizes appointment after search process that included community input and finalist interviews

SUNLAND PARK - The Gadsden Independent School District Board of Education has selected Nubia Tarazona as the district’s next superintendent after completing a search process that included community input, stakeholder engagement and interviews with finalists.

Tarazona has served as interim superintendent in recent months, leading the district through what officials described as a critical period.

Board President Christian Lira said the board is confident in Tarazona’s leadership and her ability to support student success across the district.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, we are proud to welcome Nubia Tarazona to Gadsden ISD,” Lira said. “We are confident that this leadership will help guide our district forward and support the success of every student.”

The district will release additional details about the leadership transition at a later date.
