Crews brought the fire under control within about 10 minutes after arriving Tuesday morning

LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces firefighters responded Tuesday morning to a structure fire on the 2400 block of El Camino Real.

According to the Las Cruces Fire Department, crews were dispatched shortly after 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 26.

Firefighters arriving at the scene encountered active fire and smoke coming from the structure, the department said.

Officials said crews brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes and prevented it from spreading beyond the room where it originated.

Firefighters also conducted a thorough search of the structure. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
