LAS CRUCES - President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Greg Cunningham in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District race, backing the candidate in a post Tuesday on Truth Social.

In the post, Trump said Cunningham has his “Complete and Total Endorsement” as he seeks to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Gabe Vasquez.

Cunningham, a Marine Corps veteran and former Albuquerque police officer, is running as a Republican in the southern New Mexico district.

The endorsement comes as national Republicans target the district as part of broader efforts to expand their House majority in the 2026 election cycle.
